My goal for 2019 was to participate in City2Surf. I still have muscle weakness in my affected leg..it starts hurting when I walk a lot, so I knew that this would be a challenge for me.
I did it as part of #teamstroke and to raise money for the Stroke Foundation. I ended up raising $1261 which I was pretty happy with.
It was such an amazing day. I walked with a group who were part of Little Stroke Warriors who raise awareness and were raising funds for Paediatric Stroke. Check them out at https://littlestrokewarriorsaustralia.wordpress.com/about/
It was so much fun. (It’s really not as hard as everyone says it is). It’s was such an amazing experience and so great to be doing it for such a great cause.
The atmosphere and the energy was awesome. There was music pumping you up the whole way, that was definitely needed on Heartbreak Hill. In all honesty, it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be and I’ll definitely be back next year!
